Heard that porting of the PVC pipe for the return pump is good for flowrate。
Reduce head loss,
Less resistance,
Better flowrate。
Heres my DIY ported piping to share with u guys。

Note! its just the 2 end of the pvc pipe is chamfered (Not throughout), center still remain the same so dont misunderstand haha。
This enhance water flow cos when inserted, there Wun be a step in the elbow hence water can flow freely into the tubing。

Cos our pump has a standard flowrate。
Then all got to depend how we run our pipe。
How many elbow use,MALAYSIA GOLDEN AROWANA and what type of elbow is used。
More 90 degree elbow = more head loss。
Height of main tank play a part。
So porting of these tubes is for those who got complicated joints for pipes or wanna maximize the flowrate of the pump。
And for the porting part, its just 6-8mm on each end of the pipe。
After inserted and glue, its still as strong and steady like its original。

Based on the theory of constraint concept, the flowrate is the same。
example! first end ported allows 5L of water to flow, but in the middle of the pipe which is not ported allows only 4L to flow through, that mean the end of the pipe which is ported only got 4L of water flowing through as the constraints is in the middle。

Just like y is there a different in flowrate when u use a 90 degree elbow and a 45 degree elbow when both have the same internal diameter?
