white stringy poop from FH

Hi All
Since last week my flowerhorn has been spitting out food and passing out white stringy poop and I read from the internet that the problem and infection is highly due to HEX. My FH is on a pellet diet and occasionally i will feed dry shrimp to him. but never live feed. Upon realizing and under the advice of what I have read from other hobbyist i have put him on a oral medication using CLEAR by CA aqua product. Everyday I changed 30% water and have been monitoring the situation. I was very certain that this is going to cure him
on day 4 when I saw no improvement i start to add EIHO PRAZI GOLD into the water and continue with my CLEAR medication. The fish at this time has reject all form of food but is still swimming well and responded to me but has obviously drop it level of activeness and aggressiveness.
Day 5 no improvement and I carry on with my routine of adding EIHO PRAZI GOLD and giving him oral CLEAR medication. still no food
Day 6 still passing out white poop, rejecting all food. I double up the dosage of the CLEAR from one yellow and one white capsule to two yellow and two white capsule and mixed with a bit of garlic and shoot it orally to his stomach. change 50% water this time and adding double the EIHO PRAZI GOLD.
I am really at my end and felt I have did what i can. what else can I still do to save this guy?

Hope that your FH is still doing fine and lets hear from other bros .... what advice they can give.
First, you mentioned that your FH was spitting out food. It meant that it was eating previously and stopped eating now when you started treatment. If my fish is swimming actively and eating, I would most probably wont disturb its regime and would just continuing observation. Or add vitamin like garlic guard in its food to strengthen its immune system or epsom salt to let it clears its digestive system.
Second, I suspect that your diagnosis may be wrong, hence resulting in wrong medication used. It is always wiser to hear from multiple ppl first and at the same time did your own reading/research. In your case, I think it is some kind of internal parasites or infection. And most fishes would have some degree of internal parasites/infection in them, just like us, sometimes have diarrhea but would not blown up to make us fall sick or need to eat medicine or see a doctor.
HEX is caused by another type of internal parasite/infection. I dont remember seeing my FH passes white poop when it kenna HEX twice. Only wounds (like skin rotting)(a hole) on face or head with pus (smell damned fishy and unpleasant). I used cotton butts to clean and dig out the pus, scissor to cut away some infected fresh, then apply yellow powder in the hole and wound. Cure in both occasions. Now, it is cleared from parasites and infection and mostly importantly HEX.
I would maintain pristine water condition, add salt, add heater and increase aeration, and continue observations. No more medication. With the hope that it starts eating. I see the balance in this way, if a fish eats, it means it is still strong and has its own immune system to counter-fight the disease. Once a fish stops eating, it becomes weaker over the days, hence can only rely on other elements to help it counter the disease. Again, fishes are like us in some way, a doctor would ensure his patients immune system is strengthened first (meaning he is strong enough to go through the operation), before operating on him. He needs the patients immune system to survive the operation and recuperate from the sickness.
My 2 cents only Cheers

Thank you for the quick reply. it my mistake that I might not have clearly state this, but I only started medication when he totally stop eating. you will suggested that i stop all medication from now and just do water change with salt? how many days do i need to be really concern if he still refuse to eat any thing?
>Youre welcome. I did not do anything but just share some of my experiences.
Do not jump into what I had just shared. Hear from others too. What I hope you can learn is to hear view/feedback/advice from various sources and multidimensional, then base on your own skill, experience and observations before making an informed decision. If not, then you would be like a puppet, being pulled around by whatever things other ppl said.
Another important lesson that can be learnt is do not apply medication if you are not 100% of the sickness/disease. FH is a hardy fish so can tolerate most of the medication. If it is arowana, then perhaps up lorry liao.
Thumb of rule is still to maintain good water parameters when fish is sick. Water for fish is like the air we breathe in. If water is bad, fish will sick and die. If air is polluted, then we fall sick or die, same same. Still practise your regular water change regime. Then drop a few pellets on each day and see whether it eats. If not, then remove them.
>Is this the medicine you use?
I suggest stopping medication is because you may overdose and use too much medicine on your FH and causes too much stress. Acute stress can kill your FH instantly.
I also cant ask your question directly. Fish keeping is not by the book. Please pardon me. I am not the owner. I cant see the fish. I do not know the age/maturity of the fish. Size of tank. Filtration used. All these would affect the owners (hobbyist) decision like the question you asked, or how much medicine to use, what type of medicine to use, etc. etc.
A strong and healthy fish can fast for weeks or months. My aro did not eat for a month previously.

white stringy poop from FH Siamese Tigerfish>Hi Bro
Yes that is the medication that I have been using. I will try out your advice and give an update after my observation. Thank you for sharing
>Bro. How is your FH doing?
>A picture tells a thousand words, perhaps this time a video might show what he is really talking about. Just my take on this. Thanks
