ripley"s aquarium addressReducing nitrates idearipley"s Aquarium addressReducing nitrates ideaHi bros
I was thinking of another way to reduce nitrates。 Getting a corner filter box which is powered by air pump, put in de nitrate by seachem。 Reduce the flow rate to very slow, like very little bubbles coming out from the corner filter box and sit n wait for 1-2 mths n see if the nitrates do drop a not。
Is this a good idea?
Cost would be 5-6 bucks for the corner filter, de nitrate cost ard 10 bucks。 And that would be all the cost。

>If u factor in ur weekly water change。。 Den the readings base on this idea will not be accurate。

de-nitrate required anaerobic environment。 u are using air pump to pump bubbles。 that make an oxygen rich environment instead。
beside it is place inside main tank and I guess there are other filtering equipment that make your water flow at higher rate whereby de-nitrate need
200L or less flow rate。
>Put in a few stalk of willow branches, nitrates will go down in a few days
>Nothing beats WC in reducing nitrate and all other chemicals in water。
Cost effective too。

Cost effective too。 True and to add on,ripley"s aquarium address it is good exercise too。。。
>I also use WC ( changing 25% every alternate days) to reduce nitrate level。 and it also aid fishes to grow bigger as they release growth hormones into the water。

The main reason is they poo a lot and also eat a lot, so, in a way, promote growth。。。。。。。。。。。 not releasing of hormones into the water。
If you observe, fishes always poo almost immediately after WC。
