Cloudy Water but ZERO Ammonia Nitritesu

Dear bros,
2 days ago, I overhaul my entire filter media (once every 3 months or 4 months) by washing it with tank water and did a 50% WC (which is my weekly regime)。 But this time, things are quite different。。。 and BOOM!!!! My water turned cloudy。。。 LOLX!
Both Ammonia and Nitrite reading is ZERO while Nitrate is 20ppm。 pH 7。3 as of today。
This is the first time I encounter such issue in a cycled tank。 The first time I encounter such issue is when I am setting up new tank。 My pH is too low as such, all BB actually hibernate。 When I rise the pH to 7,sumatra endangered animals my tank clears up overnight。

I have been reading up articles on Bacteria Blossom in the internet but the more I read, the more confuse I get。 Lolx。。。!!!
Some recommend using Activated Carbon to absorb the nutrients in the water and do partial WC of 20% once every 3 days。 At the same time, reduce feeding in order to reduce waste output。
Am I right to say that;
1) Cloudy water is due to excessive Beneficial Bacteria Blossom since my Ammonia and Nitrite level measures ZERO。
2) Cloudy water can be due to Ammonia and Nitrite in a new tank since BB has yet to establish。
My stock is as follows!
1 x 18"; HBRTG
1 x 18"; Florida Gar
1 x 19"; Niger Cat
1 x 9"; Irwini Cat
1 x 7"; Raphael Cat
3 x 6";/7";/8"; IT
1 x 6"; Parrot Fish

theres two kinds of bb to what i remember one stays in your media one stays in the water free flowing。 the one that stays in the water multiples faster than the one in the media and when you do new wc they found new space to multiple hence the bloom and it became cloudy when do WC。
for overhaul its pretty normal it should settle down by itself in 3-4 days。 i did a overhaul 2 weeks ago of my tank of 8 month old (first overhaul in 8 months) and also encountered it。 with free flow junks and smudge all out into the tank and it cleared up totally crystal clear in 4 days。
cloudy water doesnt neccessary means ammonia。 just like crystal clear water doesnt mean good water。 it can go cloudy either cause of the biological side or the mechnical side。 maybe you wanna take a closer look of the water under light if its cloudy dissolved water or micro particles。 if its micro particles probably is cause of mechenical filtering。

We both Overhaul and WC at the same time which is not recommended。 LOLX!!!!!
It is cloudy water not micro particles since my mechanical filtration is really Kiasu。。。 Lolx!
Top Layer - 2 sheets of Magic Clean
2nd Layer - Fine Wool
3rd Layer - 2 sheets of Magic Clean
Bottom Layer - Coarse Wool (The reason I put Coarse wool at the bottom is because it will not choke up my drainage holes easily。)
Final Output into Tank - 4 outputs are wrapped with Magic Clean again。 LOLX!

for me during these periods inbetween wc i use seachem prime/safe to detox any ammonia or harmful stuff before my filteration start running back its ability

>It should be due to Bacteria Bloom。 Will definitely clear up in afew days。

>Originally Posted by Gordy haha ya lo we no choice la need wc and overhaul filter together if not we overhaul no wc medicine still inside no point I just pray hard that my aros chip scale will recover soon。。。 been putting it on medication for a week。
>Originally Posted by hoyg2k I just pray hard that my aros chip scale will recover soon。。。 been putting it on medication for a week。 how come chipped? whats the cause?
>Originally Posted by Gordy how come chipped? whats the cause? According to some bros, fish farm mod it is due to expired Coral Chips。 I think I did a post in ATF pertaining to chipped scale。 I think you reply to it as well。 It is bacteria infection。 In fact a lot of aro hobbyist are facing this issue also。 The symptom is slow and will go un-notices just like me lor。。。 Now still under treatment。 Worst case is to dip it in Furan-G bath。
